Plasa Bieu – Restaurant Review – Punda, Willemstad, Curacao

If you are looking for authentic kriyoyo cuisine, Plasa Bieu is one of the best options. Plasa Bieu means “Old Market.” and is located next to the central market at Waaigat. It is only open for lunch.

Inside is a hot, gritty, food court packed with locals and tourists. All of the food stalls have open kitchens, with staff eager to show you their specials as you walk by. Picnic tables are covered with plastic tablecloths. In other words – it’s awesome!

We only got to try the first stall when you enter the market, Yvonne di Plasa. The menu changes every day. We ordered the Stewed Beef and the Stewed Fish of the day. Each platter came with rice and beans and salad. The food was very fresh and tasted like home cooking. If we had more time, we would’ve loved to try the other food stalls and dishes!
