Flashback Diner – Barrie, ON

The Flashback diner in Barrie is just off of HWY 400 on Bayfield Street. It use to be called The Galaxy Diner but they changed their name. I remember coming here as a teenager as a friend of mine use to work here. Hubby and I were hankering for a sandwich so we stopped here for lunch. Despite the name change, the interior is still the same, the retro 60s feel, with a little TV at each table. If you happen to try this restaurant, make sure your first time is for breakfast! The restaurant is quite small so prepare to wait during busy hours. Price Range: $11-$25 pp

Restaurant Interior – Lots of vintage metal signs.

Three Stooges Mural – They have several murals that were hand painted.

Monte Cristo Sandwich – Which is a fried ham and cheese sandwich.

We shared the Canadian Poutine which included mushrooms and bacon.

Hubby had the Bacon Burger

Poutine Menu – They have 5 different types of poutine.

Wasn’t this place a Country Style Donuts before the Galaxy as well? I seem to recall that the ceilings were REALLY yellow from all the smoking back in the day.

Hmm. I don’t remember that far back LOL. It could be from kitchen grease!

I really seem to recall thinking that they should’ve put a lighthouse in there near the register so it was easier to find your way there through everyone’s smoke. This was waaaaaaaay back though.
